I started DreamerVentures in 2024 with a simple frustration: every travel blog I read showed me the golden-hour photo, the perfect itinerary, the "hidden gem" that 10,000 people had already Instagrammed. None of them showed me what lay beneath the surface — the real histories, the forgotten tragedies, the folklore that locals still whisper about.

My obsession started where most obsessions start: deep dives into archives, documentary films, and the work of historians who spend decades in single cities. I am not a professional historian. I am a researcher who treats every destination like a case file — cross-referencing multiple sources, finding the original documents behind the myths, and mapping what actually exists against what tourism boards want you to see.

Every article on this site is built from verified sources: city records, academic papers, local news archives, and — when possible — direct correspondence with photographers and historians on the ground. When I haven't verified a claim, I say so. When a story is folklore rather than fact, I label it as folklore. When I haven't visited a place yet, I tell you exactly what I've found in research and what I still need to confirm in person.

What We Cover

• Beautiful Destinations: Photography guides, sunrise itineraries, hidden viewpoints, and sustainable travel tips — compiled from verified geographic data and photographer reports.
• Dark Tourism: Haunted locations, abandoned sites, historical tragedies, and ethical exploration guides — reconstructed from archival records, local oral histories, and verified witness accounts.
• The Two Sides: Our signature series — one destination, two narratives, one complete picture. Because a place isn't fully understood until you see what it shows tourists and what it hides.

Our Method

We don't write from airport lounges. We write from archives, research databases, satellite maps, and correspondence with local experts. Every "haunted" claim is checked against property records and historical timelines. Every "hidden viewpoint" is verified by multiple photographer submissions and sun-path calculations. If we haven't verified it, we don't publish it.

We also pay our contributors. If you're a local photographer, historian, or urban explorer with on-the-ground experience, pitch us.
